SOCIALIZED MEDICINE for thee but not for me. Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny Williams told the Canadian Press, "This was my heart, my choice and my health." about his decision to have heart surgery in the U.S. rather than Canada. His doctors told him to get the surgery immediately. He didn't want to jump a queue in Canada.
His decision probably had nothing to do with problems with Eastern Health, Newfoundland and Labrador's largest health authority. In 2008, Eastern Health had to apologize for botched lab results given hundreds of breast cancer patients. An inquiry heard that 108 patients who were given wrong results have since died. Quality control at thhe lab was determined to be "so haphazard as to be non-existent." And just yesterday Eastern Health announced they will retest more than 200 patients after another drug test discrepancy.
A LURID LAP DANCE that included simulated sex by two teachers has 13 year-olds saying "Oh that's a little too far.” The performance was at a pep rally at Churchill High School in Winnipeg last week.
SPEAKING OF PERFORMANCES, people walked out of Whitney Houston's concert in Australia. The video (link at bottom of the article ) shows how justified one fan was when he said, "She couldn't entertain a dead rat, to be honest."
SIMPLY AMAZING pictures by Google Earth of "The Boneyard," where old planes go to die, a 2,600 acre facility, officially known Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, that is home to thousands of outdated aeroplanes and helicopters mothballed by the United States Air Force and other allied forces. Hi-Res image.
