GREEN JOBS CZAR UPDATE

Van Jones denies to ABC that he ever agreed with the Truther Statement he signed in 2004. You remember, the petition that called for congressional hearings and an investigation by the New York Attorney General into "evidence that suggests high-level government officials may have deliberately allowed the September 11th attacks to occur." [Previous post here.]

According to ABC, "Jones also said in his statement that "In recent days some in the news media have reported on past statements I made before I joined the administration – some of which were made years ago. If I have offended anyone with statements I made in the past, I apologize."

ABC confirms that Jones was an admitted communist.
In 2005 Jones told the East Bay Express that the acquittal of Rodney King's assailants in 1992 in that infamous police brutality case changed him significantly. "I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th," he said. "By August, I was a communist."

Well, essentially, ABC confirmed everything the blogosphere has written about Mr. Green Jeans.

It was especially amusing to listen to a Jones apologist on O'Reilly (sitting in was Laura Ingraham.) Watching the bald-faced liar guest insist that Jones was never a communist, speed talking to avoid any insertion of fact, it was almost worthwhile putting up with the screeching black chick who had no points to make. It was eye opening to hear Jones described as an important member of Global Governance. video

You don't have to be a conservative to be disturbed by some of Jones' written and video remarks. He doesn't have to apologize for calling Republicans assholes to the happy titters of his audience. Most Republicans think the GOP are assholes as well. But Jones and his band of followers have said that recalling every controversial statement Mr. Green Jeans makes are attempts to "slime" Van Jones. Jones doesn't offend anyone, especially in the media, but what ought to offend voters is that they a right to know his past without being dismissed as "conservatives" or petty partisans for wanting to know the truth. In his own words.

UPDATE: FoxNews Brett Beier Special Report panel thinks Van Jones is history. He's a whack job. Link to Freedom's Lighthouse entry with video.
