Compassion? or Contribution?

It must be the month for compassionate release in the U.K. First, Ronnie Biggs, 80, a notorious train robber sentenced to life was released against the advice of the parole board. He reportedly is "gravely ill."

On Wednesday, newspapers reported that Abdel Basset al Megrahi, 57, a former Libyan agent convicted of the 1988 Lockerbie bombing is to be released from a Scottish prison on compassionate grounds. He is reported to be suffering from terminal prostate cancer. The Scottish government denies that a decision has been made.

Megrahi should consider suing the National Health Service. The cure rate for prostrate cancer in the U.S. is 91% to 100%. The cure rate for Europe is 77.5%.
