TODAY

WARREN BUFFET has left the Obamacare train.
Daniel Foster: Warren Buffet told "CNBC this weekend that if he were President Obama, he would scrap the current health-care billand, zero in on "cost, cost, cost" in a bill that could gain broad bipartisan support, instead of "dream[ing] up 2,000 pages of other things."

Buffet's advice? "It's cost, cost, cost." "We're not going to dream up 2,000 pages of other things."

Me: Yeah, but those 2,000+ pages of dreamed up things hide a lot of corruption and graft and 4 million patronage jobs. All paid for by our tax dollars. For those still working.

THE POWER OF GOVERNMENT TO INTRUDE ON CITIZENS'LIVES is apparent on Obamacare. Combine that arrogance with a serious lack of focus and a deficit of ideas (not to mention, having too much time on their hands) and you have a proposal in the U.K. to charge people "upwards of £60, we'll have to prove that we're fit and proper to own a dog, pay for third-party insurance in case Fido bites someone, and equip our faithful friends with subcutaneous microchips containing the names and addresses of their owners."
At some point in time you can expect to have to be licensed to have children as well.

RUSSIAN TANKS ABANDONED 200 Russian tanks (Reuters says 100) found abandoned in forest "days after one of Russia's top military commanders suggested the country did not need half of its 20,000 tanks and might scrap many older models." No keys in the tanks, but they've been sitting there four months. And Reuters says they are the new T-80s. Russian military claims it was planned. Video Map

My Two cents: Private health insurers have served us well. They are market-based, meaning they only make a profit if they do things right. Health care costs have risen because of government interference. Hospitals and doctors charge more for services and visits precisely because the government won't do their job of controlling illegal immigration. We pay for every visit to an emergency room by the uninsured, legal and illegal, who capitalize on the government promise to pay for every emergency visit. It's not surprising when they do so to seek routine care.

Blaming health insurers for the misdeeds of politicians is an effort to rally the mob against reality. The Associated Press fact checked health insurer profits They found that "Profits barely exceeded 2 percent of revenues in the latest annual measure."
