In New Jersey, Republican Governor Chris Christie issued an executive order (his 15th since taking office) banning the state’s independent boards, authorities and commissions from hiring lobbyists to seek influence with his administration, the Legislature or the federal government.
The executive order also scaled back on severance packages, travel and entertainment expenses. He has also ordered a review of all the 700 boards and authorities. He is moving aggressively to bring New Jersey's finances into order. He's in for a fight with the state unions, the entrenched Democrat party that resents his 130+ successful prosecutions of corruption in the state, and newspapers who don't even disguise their allegiance to the Democrat party.
THE QUESTION IS: So, how come Arnold Schwarzenegger doesn't act similarly? First, Arnold is a figurehead governor, only elected because he wasn't a Democrat. In every other way he is a Democrat. He certainly has been a codependent of some of the most corrupt politicians in the country.
