What's missing from this Reuters story of an Alabama lobbyist and a banker sentenced to four years in prison for corrupt bond deals related to a multibillion-dollar sewer debt in Alabama's Jefferson County?
From Business Week: "William Blount, 56, a former state Democratic party chairman, pleaded guilty last August to conspiracy and bribery."
You have to search to find that the Democrat mayor of Birmingham, Larry Langford, was convicted on 60 counts for taking bribes from Blount and LaPierre. Another missing element? Jefferson county is suing JPMorgan Chase & Co. "JPMorgan paid Blount $2.8 million to ensure that the New York-based bank was chosen to arrange derivative deals to help refinance the county’s $3 billion of sewer debt."
How come Reuters didn't know that?????? The Birmingham News knew. As did the Montgomery Adviser. WWLT says that both men were Democrat party leaders.
