PUSHING HEALTH CARE IS BIG BUSINESS

AP: (August 19) Firms with Obama ties profit from health push
President Barack Obama's push for a national health care overhaul is providing a financial windfall in the election offseason to Democratic consulting firms that are closely connected to the president and two top advisers.
Who is hiring them?
The firms were hired by Americans for Stable Quality Care and its predecessor, Healthy Economy Now. Each was formed by a coalition of interests with big stakes in health care policy, including the drug maker lobby PhRMA, the American Medical Association, the Service Employees International Union and Families USA, which calls itself "The Voice for Health Care Consumers."

All of the special interest groups are pro-Obamacare, including the AMA, much to the anger of doctors. And to the disgust of former Labor Secretary Robert Reich.

It's not as big business as it will be to federal, state and local governments who have to provide insurance for their employees, pharmaceutical companies who anticipate prescription drugs for everyone at unregulated prices, private insurers who will provide insurance mandated for all citizens and the unions who will no longer have to provide care for retirees.
