For the sake of truth in advertising, Laura, tell them about the crime statistics in Detroit. And the former mayor just out of jail. And his mother - the state Rep.- and the Feds. And Dad and the Feds. And that hinky non-profit Civic Fund the SEIU likes just before elections. And the kindness of those benefactors after the mayor went to jail. And the generosity of the non-profit Civic Fund in giving $100,000 to the mayor's Chief of Staff a day after she resigned. (Right after she pleaded guilty to two felony charges of lying under oath - about their affair.)
You should tell them about all those abandoned homes, including the one abandoned by Councilman Kwame Kenyatta. 
And those immigrants might be interested in former Councilwoman Monica Conyers -wife of the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee - being sentenced to prison.If they're from former East Germany, they'll know what to expect. But anyone else might be in for a shock, Laura. Don't you think?
