TODAY

WATTS UP WITH THAT blog is a great source of news about the Global Warming scam. Today, he posts news that "Within hours of the launch of an independent panel to investigate claims that climate scientists covered up flawed data on temperature rises, one member has been forced to resign after sceptics questioned his impartiality."

Philip Campbell, editor-in-chief of Nature, dismissed the e-mail revelations in an interview with a Chinese publication last year. Nature magazine has published some of the leading papers on climate change research, including those supporting the now famous “hockey stick” graph, the subject of intense criticism by climate sceptics.

The cost of Man-made Global Warming scam? How about 4 trillion Euros?

Makes you wonder how impartial that panel was intended to be since Nature magazine has published the vast majority of the papers by global warming scammers. If you haven't figured out yet, the Global Warming Scam is intended to pay for global socialism.

BAD NEWS FOR THE EURO
The Daily Telegraph (UK) reports that the continuing problems in Greece and the refusal of Germany to bail them out, has led to another decline in the Euro. "By late morning trading, the euro was down 1.6 cents against the dollar at $1.3538 and a third of a penny weaker against the euro, at 86.8p."

The EU has more problems coming. Unemployment in Spain is 19.5% and both Spain and Italy had their economies contract. How's that socialism working out there?

Mind you, the retirement age in Italy in 2007 was 57. (Not a typo.) It has since risen to 65 for men and 60 for women. With one of the lowest birth rates in the world, no wonder Italy is in trouble. In comparison, the age of retirement in Germany is 67, up from age 65.

CAUGHT RED-HANDED
It's alleged that a Goldman Sachs computer was used to rig a public vote on the introduction of a so-called “Robin Hood tax” on bankers. Naturally, Goldman Sachs voted "No." Source: Daily Telegraph (UK)

The idea of a global tax on banking transations is pushed by RobinHoodTax.org one of those celebrity-driven kumbaya organizations with the goal of "A tiny tax on bankers that would give billions to tackle poverty and climate change, here and abroad."

The money will, of course, be unaccounted for by any actually elected authority. Gee. Just like the UN funds. But you wonder if the organization would reveal rigged "yes" votes. Somehow I doubt it.

OLYMPICS UPDATE
RAIN AND FOG for the opening of the Winter Olympics. And tragic death for a 21-year-old Georgian bobsledder in a training run. Training was cancelled at Whistler Mountain, the site of the Alpine events, because of -- rain and fog. And the weekend events might be postponed until next week because of fog and light snow because of visibility problems.
