What happened to....?

Scott Ridder, the former U.N. Weapons Chief who had that abrupt about face? He's been arrested in a sex sting masturbating on his web cam for what he thought was a 15-year-old girl.

This isn't the first time. Ritter was charged in June 2001 Internet sex sting in New York, but that case was dismissed. (Because he claimed it was politically motivated.)

After resigning as a weapons inspector, Ritter promoted a conciliatory approach toward Iraq in the 2000 documentary In Shifting Sands: The Truth About UNSCOM and the Disarming of Iraq, which he wrote and directed. A film partially financed to the tune of $400,000 by Iraqi American businessman Shakir al Khafaji. Detroit-based businessman Al-Khafaji pled guilty to multiple felony charges in 2004 for his relationship with U.N. Oil-for-Food scandal. Wikipedia entry. The Wall Street Journal examined his ties to Detroit Democrats and other vocal Democrat opponents of our Middle Eastern policy in this 2004 article.

UPDATE (Apr 3) - Jury selection is scheduled for May 4 in Ritter's trial.
