WE'VE GOT FOR SALE SIGNS ALL OVER US

VERSION 1 Jan 21 - Direct flights from Yemen to the U.K. were suspended by the U.K. (Source: Wall Street Journal)

VERSION 2 Jan 20 - Yemen Flights to U.K. Suspended on Security Concern by Yemen’s national carrier, Yemenia, after refusing U.K. demands add an unscheduled stopover for extra security checks. (Source: Business Week)
The carrier has two flights a week. U.K. reportedly wanted interim stop in Paris or the Congo before coming to the U.K.

VERSION 3 Jan 21 - "Direct flights from the Yemen to Britain will be banned as a key part of new anti-terrorist measures following the failed attempt to blow up a transatlantic airliner, Gordon Brown announced yesterday." (Source: Independent, UK)

VERSION 4 Jan 20 - "Britain Tightens Anti-Terror Measures on Airlines" (Source: New York Times)

REALITY is somewhat different. Jan 20 - From Number10.UK.gov, the official site of the Prime Minister, comes this somewhat less muscular approach.
Mr Brown also discussed work with Yemeni authorities following the attempted bombing of a US-bound flight on Christmas Day which has been linked to Yemen. Direct flights between the UK and Yemen have now been suspended and next week Mr Brown is expected to take part in a special meeting on Yemen in London.
So, they haven't actually done anything yet. They're still talking about - their plans to talk about security - next week. Or when they get around it.

Meanwhile, (Jan 20) the Department for Communities has appointed a Muslim activist who was president of the Federation of Student Islamic Societies (Fosis) from 2004 to 2006 to advise the government on how to “encourage a deeper and broader relationship between Government and faith communities”.

And (Jan 20) Muslim police officers have rebelled openly against the Government’s anti-terrorism strategy, warning that it is an “affront to British values” which threatens to trigger ethnic unrest. "n the official intervention, the association said the Government’s anti-terrorism policies could not “continue unchecked”.

The reason for all this? Jan 15 - "Al-Qaeda threat: Britain worst in western world"
The Daily Telegraph disclosed last week that American intelligence agencies believed that Britain had the greatest number of Islamic extremists of any Western country.

Socialists like the current Labour government in the U.K. will sell their mothers for power. And, apparently, their former allies.
