The BBC is considering dropping the British Met Office weather forecasts. Last summer, the Met predicted a searing "barbeque" summer that never materialized. Then they have failed to predict the snow that blankets much of the U.K.
The British Met is, along with CRU Unit at East Anglia University, deeply embroiled with the man-made Global Warming scandal.
What a difference a few months make.
Headline September 28, 2009 Met Office warns of catastrophic global warming in our lifetimes
Headline Dec 5, 2009: Met Office to re-examine 160 years of climate data
What happened between September and December was the revelation of the falsified climate data, e-mails that hinted at fraud and the manipulation of peer review to eliminate any criticism. And blogs like Watts Up With That?
So, if the Met can't predict a weather trend in the U.K., how can they precict global temperatures 50 years out? The answer is that they can't. And never could. And they're being called on it.
