FASCINATING FINDS

Sunk in 1943 by a Japanese submarine, the Australian hospital ship Centaur was photographed last weekend by a submarine. The wreck was found in 6,500 feet in December. In one startling picture, an Australian slouch hat is shown.

Of the 332 people on the ship, only 64 survived. Survivors spent 35 hours on rafts before their rescue. Eleven of the 12 nurses on board died. The sinking became famous on war posters.
