VAN JONES RESIGNS

The AP, as usual, distorts the public record.
Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck repeatedly denounced Jones after a group the adviser co-founded, ColorofChange.org, led an advertising boycott against Beck's show to protest his claim that Obama is a racist.
The truth is that the boycott began after Beck began looking closely at Van Jones' record.

Not one mention of Jones' past, his disgraceful conduct and his dubious record. HOW MUCH MORE IN THE TANK CAN YOU BE? Even Reuters was more honest:

Reuters: "Obama's "green jobs" guru Jones resigns after uproar"
White House environmental policy adviser who specialized in "green jobs" resigned on Sunday after an uproar over his previous affiliation with a September 11 conspiracy group.
Washington Post: "White House Adviser Van Jones Resigns Amid Controversy Over Past Activism"
White House environmental adviser Van Jones resigned Saturday after weeks of pressure from the right over his past activism.

"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me," Jones, special adviser for green jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, said in a statement announcing his resignation just after midnight Saturday. "They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide."

He continued: "I have been inundated with calls -- from across the political spectrum -- urging me to 'stay and fight.' But I came here to fight for others, not for myself. I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future."
You don't have to be a Republican or "from the Right" to be incensed about Jones and the lack of vetting in the White House and the abdication of the Senate in their Advice and Consent obligations. Most of the bloggers who have followed the story the closest are Libertarian, like Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit.com

But, like most of his career, Jones blames whites, or America, or Republicans ( "Assholes") or American warmongers for everything wrong in the world. Most of it is rabblerousing. At heart, Jones is a poser and an opportunist. If you want to talk about someone betraying Blacks, Jones is it as he encouraged youth and the disaffected to protest, rather than teach them how to succeed. If they did succeed, he would be out of a job. Nothing succeeds like success and when YOUR success is dependent upon the impoverishment of others, what's the incentive to actually help the rabble he trained?

In his resignation letter, according to the AP that provides no links, they say he said "he has been "inundated with calls from across the political spectrum urging me to stay and fight." Bullshit.

Those 50 "Moderate" (non-loony) Democrats probably had more to say about it. They have to run on his record.
