NOT YOUR AUNTIE ANYMORE

The BBC used to be so staid that it was like being counseled by your Auntie. Hence, the name "Auntie". No more, it seems. Unless your aunt is duplicitous and biased.

A BBC show "Sun, Sea & Bargain Spotting" was yanked when a cameraman on the show posed as a buyer for a collectible being sold by a contestant.
It is two years since the BBC was hit by a series of scandals. Shows such as Children In Need, Blue Peter and Comic Relief featured phone-ins where production staff pretended to be winners.
---------------
BIAS
BBC bias has become legendary. A good example of which is today's top headline. FBI BOSS ATTACKS MEGHRANI RELEASE

Not "deplores " the release of a terrorist or "condemns" or "strongly criticizes" the release of a mass murderer, all descriptions found in UK newspapers. Or, Mueller says release is "mockery of the rule of law." Mueller, the BBC insists, launched a "scathing attack."

For writing a letter.

To condemn the release after eight years in prison of the Libyan Intelligence agent who coordinated the Lockerbie bombing that killed 270 passengers and 11 Scots on the ground.

Headlined at the London Telegraph was "FBI chief describes Lockerbie bomber's release as a 'mockery of justice'

Mueller was the Assistant Attorney General in charge of the investigation and indictment of Megrahi in 1991.

In the meantime, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the son of the nutcase Mumammar Gaddafi, has linked the release to oil and gas agreements Labor negotiated with Libya. British Business Secretary Lord Mandelson is facing questions over his links to Saif Gaddafi.
It was only last year, after being once again caught out misleading the British electorate, that Lord Mandelson, who has twice been forced to resign from Government, publicly pledged to choose his friends more carefully.
Conspicuously silent is Britain's Prime Minister Gordon Brown. (The Scotsman wonders why Brown was able to send a video message to Muslims around the world for Ramadan last night. But no time to answer questions about the release of release of Megrahi.)
