New Strategy
Wait, it's just the LATEST strategy.

Apparently, conceding that they are losing the battle, the Liberals in the media and in the Left Democrat party are shifting the focus.

AP: Analysis: Liberals tired of health care compromise
The AP quotes more liberal activists and the SEIU than Democrats. And reprises the story about 50 Democrats issued a letter saying, "Any bill that does not provide, at a minimum, for a public option with reimbursement rates based on Medicare rates — not negotiated rates — is unacceptable." Problem is, they were mostly the leftwing Black Caucus.

Politico: Parties deal blame as White House goes solo on health reform " President Obama now realizes he probably will have to pass health reform with Democratic votes alone, White House officials say." BOTTOM LINE: "West Wing aides are rewriting their strategy in an effort to eke out the votes they need, perhaps the bare minimum. But even that will be hard."
------------------
The White House strategy has been to avoid being associated with the kind of failure that tainted the Clinton presidency or being identified too closely with the more radical congressmen directing the present "Health Care Reform".

The White House hoped Democrats in Congress would take the fall. It's becoming clear those Dems are not willing to fall on their political poniards or cross an angry public.
